We are looking for an experienced Oracle Database Administrator with expertise in Exadata and ExaCS. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for providing support and maintenance for our Exadata and ExaCS infrastructure.


Responsibilities:

  • Thorough understanding of Oracle Database Architecture including the latest version of Oracle 11g, 12c & 19c.
  • Solid troubleshooting experience in areas such as RAC, ASM, Exadata, Performance tuning, Data Guard (Physical and Logical), DG Broker.
  • Experience in handling complex database recovery scenarios.
  • Troubleshooting various installation and patching issues.
  • Provide and implement performance and tuning recommendations for all components of the Exadata machine.
  • Perform Exadata storage servers upgrades and patching.
  • Exposure to Cloud technologies like Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), ExaCS & ExaCC will be an added advantage.
  • Ability to work under pressure, quick thinking, and remaining calm during stressful situations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to work in shifts (including Night shifts) and on weekends.
  • Appetite to learn new technologies (OCI/ExaCC) and constantly improve technical skills.
  • Good academic background and Oracle Certifications is a must.
  • Good understanding of Exadata Architecture.
  • Clear understanding of Exadata features like Flash cache, Storage Index, HCC, and IORM.
  • Understanding of Luns, Cell Disk, and Grid disk.
  • Implementation experience of exadata features.
  • Understanding of CELLCLI and DCLI.
  • Performance tuning of Exadata component.
  • Understanding of Cell Storage software.
  • Troubleshooting experience

 

ExaCC Infrastructure Support:

  • Create VM cluster network.
  • Create New VM cluster using console.
  • Add new VM to an existing cluster.
  • Remove VM from an existing VM cluster.
  • Modify the VM cluster settings.
  • Update the guest VM (DomU) operating system.
  • Ensure that VM’s are added in ARCOS, Marygold.
  • Perform storage expansion from console.
  • Configure the guest VM monitoring using OEM or any other tool.
  • Configure the Guest VM (DomU) security parameters as per SCD.
  • Co-Ordinate & Schedule the ExaCC infra patching with Oracle Cloud OPS.
  • Arrange access for Oracle engineer for HW replacement.
  • Manage the DC space, Power, Cooling related alerts & events.
  • Manage the Network IP segments & allocation.
  • Configure & Manage guest VM backups (DomU).
  • Backup/Restore Guest VM as required (DomU).
  • Creating ACSF mount points on DomU.
  • Capacity monitoring, Analysis & planning. Check the OCPU, Local storage, Exadata Storage utilization and alert respective teams when the threshold is reached.
  • Create Exadata infra related SR’s as and when required. Performing the patching or staging the patch.

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Oracle Database Administration.
  • Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) certification.
  • Good knowledge of Linux/Unix operating systems.
  • Good understanding of networking protocols and concepts.
  • Experience with cloud-based technologies like OCI, ExaCS & ExaCC.
